Barbarian on Sabertooth Snow Tiger

Last week Kevin Dallimore posted up a picture of this figure he'd painted on the Steve Dean Painting forum and I knew I had to have a go at the same, so I promptly put in an order to Folorn Hope Games and with a couple of days he was primed and ready to go.

I decided to go with tiger stripes rather than leopard spots as I did a snow leopard for Frostgrave last year. I'm pleased with the result, I can't stress enough how useful having some pictures of snow tigers on my phone in front of me was while I did it.
In the end I probably rushed him a little, but I'm pleased with the result. I had a rummage in the lead mountain as well and dug out some old Chaos Marauders (the Dave Andrews sculpts) and intend to paint up a small unit of them to go with him, the makings of a Dragon Rampant or God of Battles force I think!

  1. Nice work here. It has a real Boris Vallejo kind of feel to it. I'd love to see it photographed again against a more evocative background!

    1. I was really pleased with mine - but it has left me wanting to order more! I quite fancy a little cavalry unit to go with him.

  4. This brings back memories, I bought this mini eons ago, just to steal the rider to use as a mounted chaos thug dude. Never got round to painting up the tiger/leopard though.

Your paint job has got me all enthused to paint him up.....now, where the bloody hell to I put it?

Top stuff! I just found your blog through Warfactory, consider yourself stalked a.k.a. followed :)
